His Life
It's All Relative
What are they saying?
After graduating from Notre Dame with a pre-law degree, Cliff found himself dreaming of more. He kissed his conventional life goodbye and went to London to study theater. This was the start of something big. The Old World excited Cliff, one of his passions was Shakespeare and here he was in the very land where The Bard trod the boards.
Cliff was invited to join The Royal Shakespeare Company and eventually starred as the Old Moor in Othello. The acting bug had bitten hard. Feeling as if he had found his life's work, he threw himself into his part. When the production was over, he knew what he had to do next.
Returning to the US, he naturally went to Hollywood to continue his rise to fame. Success was slower in coming to Cliff in the land of sunshine and celluloid. He made some B-movies, mostly of the "gladiator" type. His work did not go entirely un-noticed, he started getting guest star roles in shows like Dragnet and The Untouchables.
Stuggling to make his mark, Cliff became frustrated with the lack of offers. He considered giving it all up and falling back on his law degree for his future. Just when things looked the bleakest, he was asked to play "Chad" in a new sort of television show, "Honey Vicarro". This role was a defining moment for Cliff. The role as mysterious, sexy sidekick to Kim Carlyle's Honey was perfectly suited to his personality and brooding good looks.
This series was his last showbiz appearance.
