What was Cliff doing during those years? What was going on with his career and relationships? What caused the slip into darkness?
Cliff found himself disillusioned with the Hollywood lifestyle, the partying was slowly killing his spirit. His relationship with his ex-wife Carol Lynley was antagonistic at best. From what we have been able to piece together and what glimpses we have from Cliff, he was suffering from a real crisis of faith at this time.
